Write! Young Authors Workshop

Turning young creatives into budding authors

Impressum’s Young Writers Workshop is tailored to improve the creative writing skills of children and young people who have an interest in books and writing. The workshops are for young writers aged between 8 and 18 years, who want to improve the quality of their stories. Our workshops are fun, playful and developmental, with a highly qualified and experienced teaching staff. Young authors are given an insight into the amount of work involved in writing and publishing a book, with a mix of games, practical skills development, and tasks that enable them to take their writing to the next level.

Stories worth sharing

Our workshops focus on evocative descriptions, smart editing, and taking feedback wisely, to help young writers take their work to the next level. We also provide an introduction to the world of publishing and ways our writers can start sharing their stories. Hosted by award-winning Young Adult author Gabrielle Reid (The Things We Can’t Undo, Josie Robs a Bank) and children’s author Sheree Chambers (Ella’s Aussie Adventures picture book series, Clockmaker Chronicles middle grade trilogy), we are passionate about sharing a love of words with a new generation of writers.

Inspiring confidence

We believe that learning to write well should be fun and enjoyable, which is why our mission is to inspire joy, confidence and creativity in the next generation of young writers. Using real-world examples from the books they love, we help participants to find the skills and qualities that they can build on to make their stories more compelling, more realistic, and more deeply felt.
